Brand colour
A colour used consistently by a company or organisation so that people recognise it at a glance.
Also: corporate colour, signature colour
Many organisations are known by a colour before their name is read: a particular red on a drinks can, a purple on a chocolate wrapper, a brown on a delivery van. To keep the colour constant across print, screen, paint and fabric, brands publish exact specifications, often as Pantone, CMYK, RGB and hex values. In some countries a colour can be registered as a trademark, but only for specific goods and only when the public clearly links it with one company. Political parties and sports teams use colour in the same way.
