Livery
The fixed colours and markings that identify a household, company, team or fleet of vehicles.
Also: house colours, fleet colours
Livery first meant the clothing a great lord gave to his servants and followers, in his own colours, so that everyone could see whom they served. The word passed to the uniforms of footmen and the guilds of London, and then to transport. Railway companies, airlines, bus operators and taxi fleets each have a livery. The black and yellow of Mumbai taxis and the red of London buses are liveries in this sense. Racing teams and their sponsors use the word for the paint scheme of a car.
