ICC
The industry body that defines the standard format for colour profiles.
Also: International Color Consortium
The International Color Consortium was set up in 1993 by a group of computer and imaging companies, including Apple, Adobe, Kodak and Microsoft. Its purpose was to create a colour management system that would work across different makers' software and hardware. The result is the ICC profile format, now an international standard. When people speak of an ICC profile, they mean a file in this format that describes how a particular screen, printer, paper or camera handles colour.
