Greige
A neutral between grey and beige; also raw cloth that has not yet been bleached or dyed.
Also: grey-beige
As a colour, greige is a warm grey or a cool beige, somewhere between the two. It became a favourite for walls, sofas and car interiors because it suits both warm and cool companions. The word is older than the fashion. In the textile trade, greige or grey goods are fabrics straight from the loom, before bleaching, dyeing or finishing, whatever their actual colour. That sense comes from a French and Italian word for raw silk. The two meanings have merged in everyday use.
